The Kansas City Timebank is a cornerstone equity-based economics project of the Kansas City Restoration School. All member subscription donations are set on sliding scales to ensure that everyone in our community that would like to participate, can.  If you would like to join the Timebank, but do not have the funds to do so, please reach out to the Timebank Coordinator for help with your subscription options.

The mission of the KC Timebank (KCTB) is to be a community reciprocity hub for the Kansas City Metro Area.

Our goals:

  1. Create pathways to equity-based economics.

  2. Support access to KCRS through need-based scholarships.

  3. Engage KCRS families with KCTB rather than a traditional PTA.

  4. Engage KCRS students in learning about equity and economics through timebank stewardship.

  5. Establish pathways for KC artists and entrepreneurs to offer lessons to students for time credit.

  6. Build a vast eco-system of care across the bi-state region that functions to reclaim that value of time for all people.

The first step to joining the Kansas City Timebank is to come join us for

Gathering With A Purpose, a deep dive into Timebanking & weaving community.

It starts with a “walkabout,” sharing with each other the things we each love to do.

Next, we reflect on how and where Timebanking’s five core values play in our own and others’ lives. We speak to the needs we see, to the wishes we have for change. Could Timebanking’s giving & receiving time-for-time help us to achieve the purposes we seek? How? What seeds shall we plant? What actions shall we take?

Then, in closing, comes “chopping wood” as we each explore the next steps to take.
